Now That You Are Saved

Your Next Steps in Faith

1. Welcome to New Life in Christ!

Congratulations! You have made the most important decision of your life—accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. But what happens now? How do you grow in your faith? This book will guide you through the next steps on your journey with God.

A New Beginning

When you received Jesus, your old life ended, and a new one began.

2 Corinthians 5:17 – “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

2. Understanding What Just Happened

Salvation is more than just a prayer—it’s a spiritual transformation. Here’s what it means for you:

  • You are forgiven – Your past sins are erased. (1 John 1:9)
  • You are a child of God – You have been adopted into His family. (John 1:12)
  • You have eternal life – Your destiny is secure in Christ. (John 3:16)
  • You are a new creation – The old is gone, and the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Romans 8:1 – “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

3. Building a Relationship with God

Just like any relationship, your connection with God needs to grow. Here’s how:

1. Prayer – Talking to God

Prayer is a two-way conversation with God. Speak from your heart.

Philippians 4:6 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

2. Bible Reading – Hearing from God

The Bible is your spiritual food.

Matthew 4:4 – “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

3. Worship – Expressing Love to God

Worship is honoring God with your words, actions, and thoughts.

John 4:24 – “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

4. The Importance of Church and Fellowship

Christianity is not meant to be lived alone. Find a local church where you can:

  • Grow in faith through biblical teaching.
  • Connect with other believers for support and encouragement.
  • Serve others as Jesus did.

Hebrews 10:25 – “Do not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encourage one another.”

5. Overcoming Challenges in Your Faith

Common Challenges & How to Overcome Them

Becoming a Christian doesn’t mean life will be free from struggles, but now you have God’s power to overcome them.

  1. Doubt – If you question your faith, return to God’s Word for reassurance. (Romans 10:17)
  2. Temptation – Satan will try to pull you back, but resist him through prayer and scripture. (James 4:7)
  3. Fear & Worry – Trust in God’s promises, knowing He is with you. (Philippians 4:6-7)
  4. Old Habits – Let go of past behaviors and allow the Holy Spirit to renew you. (Romans 12:2)

John 16:33 – “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

6. Walking in Power: The Holy Spirit

The moment you accepted Jesus, the Holy Spirit came to live in you. He is your:

  • Helper – Guiding you daily. (John 14:26)
  • Strength – Giving you power to overcome sin. (Galatians 5:16)
  • Teacher – Revealing God’s truth to you. (John 16:13)

Acts 1:8 – “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses.”

7. Sharing Your Faith with Others

Jesus calls us to tell others about Him. You don’t need to be a preacher—just share your story.

Ways to share your faith:

✔ Live differently – Let your actions reflect Christ.
✔ Share your testimony – Tell others how Jesus changed your life.
✔ Invite others to church – Bring them to a place where they can learn about God.

Matthew 28:19 – “Go and make disciples of all nations.”

8. Growing Strong: Daily Christian Habits

To keep your faith strong and healthy, make these a part of your daily life:

  • Read the Bible – Even just a few verses each day. (Psalm 119:105)
  • Pray daily – Keep an ongoing conversation with God. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
  • Stay connected – Be active in church and Christian community. (Acts 2:42)
  • Serve others – Help those in need, just as Jesus did. (Galatians 5:13)

James 2:26 – “Faith without works is dead.”

9. God’s Plan for Your Life

Your journey with Jesus is just beginning. God has a specific purpose for you!

  • Seek Him in prayer – Ask for His guidance. (Jeremiah 29:11)
  • Be patient – Growth takes time, and God works in seasons. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
  • Trust Him – Even when things don’t make sense, God is in control. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Philippians 1:6 – “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”

10. Final Encouragement

Your decision to follow Jesus is the beginning of an incredible journey. You are no longer alone—God is with you every step of the way.

Remember:

  • ✔ You are forgiven and loved. (Romans 8:38-39)
✔ You have a new identity in Christ. (Colossians 3:3)
✔ God has a purpose for your life. (Ephesians 2:10)

Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Stay close to Jesus, keep growing, and never turn back. Your new life in Christ is just beginning—embrace it!

Welcome to the family of God!
